What is your personal information?
When used in this policy, the term “personal information” has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Act. In general terms, it is any information that can be used to personally identify you. This may include your name, address, telephone number, email address and profession or occupation. If the information we collect personally identifies you, or you are reasonably identifiable from it, the information will be considered personal information.

Generally, this personal information may include (but is not limited to) your name, mailing or street address, email address, telephone number, age or birth date, details of the products or services you have enquired about, property value, rental amounts, insurance details, photo identification and bank account details.
We may also have to ask you for further financial information such as source of funds, to meet our obligations under the Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.

How is your personal information collected by the Commercial Realty website?
We may also use third-party web analytics services on our website, such as Google Analytics. These help us analyse how you use the website. The information obtained for this purpose (including your IP address and other information collected by automated means) will be disclosed to or collected directly by these service providers.
The providers of third-party plug-ins and widgets on our sites, such as embedded videos and social media sharing tools, may use automated means to collect information regarding your use of the sites and your interactions with the plug-ins and widgets. We may also receive information you have made available to those third party services, including the geographic location of your mobile device and other information about you (such as name, email address, gender, locale, time zone, languages, social media profile, URL, personal website URL, biographical information, birthday, photo, list of devices, education history, work history, hometown, interests, current city, political views, favourite athlete and teams, relationship status and information, religion, name of significant other, and certain security settings information) and your contacts on those services. This information is subject to the privacy policies or notices of the third-party providers of the plug-ins and widgets.
Storage, Security and Retention
Personal information may be stored in hard copy and/or electronic form including with third party data facilities and in cloud storage located in and outside New Zealand. When you provide us with your personal information you give us your consent to store your information outside of New Zealand and in third party facilities.
We take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse and loss from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We have implemented policies and procedures to safeguard the secure storage and processing of data and have verified the security arrangements of our outsourced data providers.
We will retain your personal information for as long as we have a relationship with you and for a period afterwards where we have an ongoing legal or business need to retain it - for example to comply with your anti money laundering obligations.

We will endeavor to ensure that the personal information that we hold is accurate, complete and up to date. You have the right to correct any personal information we hold about you in accordance with the Privacy Act.

Once a request for access to personal information is received, we will review your request as soon as reasonably practicable. If we are unable to give you access to the information that you have asked for, we will give you the reasons for this decision when we respond to your request.
Opting out or Unsubscribing to Marketing Communications
By subscribing to emails and/or text communication, or otherwise providing your email address and/or mobile number, you consent to receiving emails and/or texts which promote and market our products and our services from time to time. You can unsubscribe from the email or text communication at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link or by replying unsubscribe in any email or text from us. You can also contact our privacy officer to do this.
